Why should you list an opportunity on the Departure Board?
A cost-effective way to bring talented international staff into your organisation. A student or graduate from a UK university can bring a new perspective and relevant skills to your company. Because many students can access funding towards their period of work or volunteering overseas, you may also find that the salary you offer could be less than you think in order to be competitive and support a students’ cost of living whilst on place. Many students gain academic credit for their placement and develop a wide range of skills by working abroad, so they have added motivation to join you.
Stand out as a responsible provider in the eyes of 1,000s of students and recent graduates. On the departure board you’re listing your opportunities to students from across the UK, not just a select few universities. We aim to be the destination for any UK-based student considering a period of work experience or volunteering overseas. By committing to our Charter, you are demonstrating that you offer a safe environment and fair conditions for students to work in whilst contributing to the success of your organisation.

"I've seen the benefits of international interns and employees from both sides of the fence: As a student the work placement I completed in Germany was life-changing. The small stipend I received from the company covered my rent and the funding I received via my university covered everything else. Since then I've employed countless interns and staff into my businesses and helped other companies do the same. It really is a win-win."
